How this works

The code, the label, and what happens once your box gets here. Nothing on this page is complicated. If it were, we would have built it wrong.

The reference code is the whole idea

Every submission gets a short code. It looks like this:

Example
K7M-4X2Q

Write it on every sample bag and on the outside of the box. When the box lands at the lab, someone types or scans that code and your paperwork is on screen in two seconds. No guessing whose samples these are, no phone call to work it out.

Six characters and a check character. There is no letter O and no letter I in it, so there is nothing to confuse with a zero or a one. If you write it in marker and it smudges a little, the search still finds it.

You get the code as soon as you start the job, not at the end. So you can print the label and take it with you, or fill everything in at the tailgate afterwards. Both work.

Sending us samples

1Pick the test
Tap Submit a COC and choose what you are sending. Asbestos and lead each have an air form and a bulk or wipe form, so pick the one that matches what is in the box.
2Fill in the job
Your company details are already in. Fill in the site, who collected it, and the turnaround you need.
3Add a line for every sample
Tap Add a sample. If the samples are similar, use Copy the last one and change what differs. Anything we can work out ourselves, air volume from flow rate and run time, fills in on its own.
4Photograph anything unusual
Optional, but it saves a phone call when something is unclear. The bag, the site, a damaged seal.
5Release the samples
Your name, your email, and tick the terms. This is the relinquished-by line on the paper form, it is what makes it a chain of custody.
6Print the label and ship
The label carries the code, the barcode and the right lab address. Stick it on the box.
No signal? Keep going.Everything you type is saved on your phone as you go. If you lose reception in a basement or a plant room, carry on filling the form, it is all still there. When you get back in range it sends by itself. You will see "Saved on this phone" at the bottom of the screen while you are offline.

Where samples actually go

Not everything comes to Union, New Jersey. Multi-test water goes to our Michigan lab and lead or copper in water goes to Virginia. You do not need to remember which, the form knows, and the label prints the right address. Use the label and it cannot go wrong.

Most water samples must ship on ice, overnight. When that applies, it is printed across your label in black and white.

If you use your own paperwork

Plenty of people do and always will. Tap Upload your own form, take a photo of the sheet you already fill in, or upload a PDF. We read it and give you a reference code straight away.

If anything on it is hard to read, we do not guess. It goes to a person here to check, your code still works, and your samples can ship immediately.

When we have a question

Wrong test ticked, a sample that does not match the form, something missing. Instead of ringing you, we raise it against your reference code. You get an email, and the question is sitting on that submission when you open it. Reply there and the whole thread stays in one place.

Repeat jobs

Same building, same test, every quarter? Open the submission and tap Submit another like this. It copies everything and moves the dates to today. One tap, then change what is different.

Your colleagues

Accounts are per company, not per person. Whoever submits, everyone at your company sees it: submissions, documents and invoices. Add people under Account.

Supplies and invoices

Supplies is a catalogue, not a shop. Add what you need, send it over, and we come back with a quote on your account, no card, no checkout. Invoices reads straight from our accounting system, so what you see is what we have.

What is not here yet

Live sample status and results. Our laboratory system is being rebuilt right now, and rather than plug into something that is about to change, we have left the space for it. Results come the way they always have until then.

Still stuck?

Call the lab. A person answers, and they can see exactly what you can see.
