IRIS FiberGuard™ is the lab's on-site asbestos sampling service. Certified field professionals come to your site, collect the samples and keep the chain of custody, and the lab runs PCM air, AHERA clearance and bulk PLM under NJ NELAP, NY ELAP #12738 and NVLAP 600211-0.

IRIS does not compete with the contractors and consultants who send it work. The lab runs the samples, and you keep the client relationship.

When to call FiberGuard

  1. A pre-demolition ACM survey is required. NESHAP mandates a survey before any demolition.
  2. A school needs post-abatement AHERA clearance. TEM clearance is required before reoccupancy.
  3. Workers are disturbing suspect material. OSHA 1926.1101 requires PCM air monitoring.
  4. You are renovating a pre-1980 building and need to identify ACM before work begins.
  5. Demolition waste needs classifying. NY ELAP analysis is required before licensed disposal.
  6. There is litigation or an insurance dispute, and you need a defensible chain-of-custody PLM and TEM report.

What they bring

  • PCM cassettes and a sampling pump, for NIOSH 7400 fibre counting
  • TEM air cassettes for AHERA clearance (40 CFR 763 App. A)
  • Bulk sample containers and tools, taking a 1 to 2 cm² core per location
  • An aggressive sampling setup (leaf blower and fan) for AHERA clearance
  • Decontamination between locations: HEPA vacuum, wet wipe and a PPE change
  • A chain-of-custody form that meets NJ NELAP, NY ELAP and NVLAP requirements
