Pick the panel

• School, office or municipal water, SDWA/EPA compliance baseline: PFAS-8.
• Near a chemical plant, an airport, or a known GenX or short-chain release: PFAS-14, which captures short-chain compounds and GenX that 537.1 misses.
• Phase II ESA, groundwater monitoring or industrial discharge (NPDES): PFAS-24.
• AFFF (firefighting foam) impacted site: PFAS-24, for the widest compound coverage.

Collection rules

PFAS sampling has strict protocols. Follow them exactly.

Use:

• lab-supplied HDPE or polypropylene containers
• nitrile gloves, changed between every sample
• one field blank per sampling event
• a trip blank that travels with the samples from the lab to the field and back

Do not use:

• Teflon (PTFE) tubing, caps or fittings, which leach PFAS into the sample
• standard lab glass containers
• latex gloves
• tap water as a field blank
• containers that have not been pre-cleaned and certified by the lab

Shipping

Complete the COC with site information, matrix and requested analysis before you ship. Ship overnight with ice packs, so samples arrive refrigerated at 4°C. Do not ship warm or at ambient temperature. Turnaround starts on the date the lab receives the samples.

Every kit includes pre-certified HDPE containers, COC forms, a prepaid FedEx overnight label and a sampling instruction card. Reports come by email in PDF and Excel, compared with the applicable EPA MCLs and action levels.
